Mad Genius Radio Slam Dunks a Partnership with The Quiet Storm Foundation to Support Music and Recreation
Special genre curated by NBA player CJ Watson and The Quiet Storm’s Youth Advisory Council now being featured on Mad Genius Radio
DENVER and LAS VEGAS – Nov. 10, 2014 – Mad Genius Radio, the only platform that gives listeners a completely personalized radio experience, today announced a partnership with Indiana Pacers guard CJ Watson and his Quiet Storm Foundation to help support the foundation’s ongoing programs. In addition to making a financial contribution to the organization, Mad Genius Radio is currently featuring a special genre curated by CJ Watson and Quiet Storm’s Youth Advisory Council called “In Da Zone” on its radio platform. Quiet Storm Foundation serves underprivileged youth in the greater Las Vegas area through community projects and recreation camps focused on health and wellness, education and leadership.
“This partnership with Mad Genius Radio is all about further motivating our kids through the power of music,” said Cathy Watson, Executive Chair & Founder of The Quiet Storm Foundation. “We’re committed to promoting health and wellness, education and leadership through the vehicles that drive and motivate today’s youth. Music is one of those vehicles—it brings people together and remains a source of inspiration within the young community. Having the kids work with CJ to create a playlist is a creative way to get them involved with leadership while doing something they love.”
The “In Da Zone,” genre curated by NBA player CJ Watson and the Quiet Storm’s Youth Advisory Council will focus on upbeat music to move and groove to while on the basketball court, participating in other recreational activities, or enjoying time with friends.
“In addition to delivering the ultimate, customizable radio platform, Mad Genius Radio is focused on empowering community involvement through music,” said Eric Neumann, founder of Mad Genius Radio. “Quiet Storm is helping to engage and educate kids who will grow up to become the next leaders and entrepreneurs of this country. We want to be a part of that through something we’re all passionate about, like music. It’s incredibly personal, but something we all have in common.”
Recently launching its platform, Mad Genius Radio’s unique blend of professional curation and user input leads to a personalized, but never predictable listening experience that is ideally suited for music lovers with eclectic tastes. More than fifty human-curated genres fit every listener’s preferences, activity and mood. But rather than having to pick just one category, Mad Genius users can combine up to seven genres – each of which features at least 300 songs in rotation – at a time. A unique 0-10 sliding scale adjusts how much of each genre will play, while a 0-5 rating scale determines how often each artist or song will rotate.
